COURSE OVERVIEW

The certificate in Airline Customer Service is a new programme
that will be offered from 2010. It consists of The National
Certificate in Aviation – Core Skills, Level 3 and The National
Certificate in Tourism – Core Skills, Level 3.

This Programme prepares people for frontline roles in the aviation
industry and the wider tourism industry. It includes knowledge on
business operations, safety and security, and develops the
customer service, communication and teamwork skills that are
essential for frontline roles. It also builds knowledge about the
Tourism industry and its importance to New Zealand.

This programme replaces the Air New Zealand certificate in
Airline Customer Service which was offered from 2006 – 2009.

Educational Field Trips are an integral part of the course,
and all have a learning outcome. They include:

  • Visit to an Engineering hangar
  • Airport familiarisations ( airside and landside)
  • Domestic Flight / Tourism familiarisation at destination

Fees for these are included in course fees. Some optional
famils may be offered and these may incur an additional fee.

LOCATION, DURATION AND COURSE TIMES
The course is 17 weeks long and class hours are 0800 – 1500,
Monday – Friday. It is delivered at the Air New Zealand Airline
Training Centre, 7 – 13 Rennie Drive, Airport Oaks, Auckland

QUALIFICATION
Upon successful completion of the course, students will achieve
The National Certificate in Aviation – core skills , level3.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum age 18
  • Recommended work experience of 12 months in a customer facing role
  • Written reference
  • NCEA level 2 or equivalent
  • International Students must be high school graduates and be
    able to demonstrate competency in English language to IELTS 5.0 or equivalent
